If you’re planning a Twilight-themed birthday party, there are several fun, creative and beautiful cake ideas you can choose from.
Twilight Book Cover Cake

The image of the two hands holding the apple is a popular one for Twilight cakes. There are several ways to execute a twilight book cover cake, the image shows a set of 4 cakes, each modeled after a different Twilight book.
Twilight Photo Cake

If you have a photo printer (purchase from the left sidebar) you can print the image you want on your cake, then just lay it on the frosting. use a frosting bag to make a nice frame around it, like this Twilight photo cake, it has a picture of Bella and Edward on the left side and Happy Birthday Alyssa on the right.
Twilight Cake Wrecks

Can you spot the disaster in this cake? To be honest, I haven’t read any of the books or seen any of the movies, but I know one thing. The author’s name is Stephenie Meyers.
Fancy Fondant Twilight Cakes

This cake is beautiful, and much more appropriate for an upscale birthday, or a sweet sixteen. If you need help working with fondant, check out the Frosted Dreams ebook or the video tutorials at the Cake Decorating Club, plus I have fondant and gumpaste decorating information here.
Twilight Cupcakes

I think these are supposed to maybe be vampire teeth bites. They might be cheesy, but they’re definitely an easy Twilight cake decorating maneuver.

I think these are the best Twilight cupcakes I’ve seen. These would definitely be a conversation starter, especially as teens argued over who gets which one.
Funny Twilight Cakes

I think this one is hilarious, I just had to include it because I think it’s the funniest Twilight cake I’ve seen so far.
If you decide to bake a Twilight Cake, go ahead and email me a picture of it, I can post it right here and share it with our readers and even link back to your blog or website.
This cake tint has to be the absolute most amazing product on the planet. I was first introduced to it at my friend Emily’s house, she had sprayed the popcorn pink for a Princess party. Isn’t that genius? Obviously it dries fast if it can be used on popcorn, even though it’s designed for cakes. The possibilities are endless, I think it’s the most exciting food invention since K-cups.
They come individually, or in the set. Individual cans are about $4 each. Click on the group image to find them individually.
Decorating a cake can be so much fun. TV cake decorators make it look so easy. The bottom line is, anyone can create a cake that looks too pretty to eat.
The first thing you need is a good set of tools. Luckily, most of the tools you need for cake decorating are already in your kitchen.
One thing I’ve learned about buying fancy cooking tools is that you get a lot better prices online. Think about it, a gourmet cooking store must order 50 doodads at a time, then they sit on her shelf and she sells maybe one a month. She pays rent on that store, they take up space on her shelf. Her staff must dust off the packages and she paid for them when she first bought them.
An online vendor, on the other hand, has a wider base of customers, can go through products faster than the shopkeeper and, with a drop shipping arrangement, doesn’t even have to store any inventory.
When it comes time to order specialty tools and supplies for cake decorating and baking it’s best to shop online.
 Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty Birthday Party
Hello Kitty is a popular birthday theme. Hello Kitty is simple, fun and sweet, supplies for a hello kitty party are easy to come by and to make.
Making a Hello Kitty Birthday Cake
A Hello Kitty cake can be really easy to make. For a double layer cake, cook Three round layers of cake. Stack two like you normally would for a layer cake. Then, cut the third into 4 triangular pieces, and stack two for one ear, two for the other. If you want the chin flatter, just use a bread knife to trim it down. Cover the whole cake with a layer of white fondant and use black frosting in a piping bag to trace the outline of Hello Kitty’s head, nose and eyes. For her whiskers, cut six black licorice strings in half, you might want to thread a toothpick through the underside to keep them stable. For her bow, use a red floral bow or create one from fondant. Roll out a portion of red fondant and cut it to size. Trace the outer edges of the bow and the knot area with black frosting.
Healthy Birthday Cake Recipes
I found a few recipes for yummy nutritious birthday cakes, try this Peach Upside Down Cake that can be frosted. I’d recommend a cream cheese frosting, personally. There’s also this Gluten Free Carrot Cake, even if you’re not into carrot cake, you have to check out the picture, it looks so terribly delicious. Why, I wonder, do they always decorate carrot cakes with carrots? Finally, here’s a recipe for a Chocolate Zucchini Cake. The author says that the zucchini does something magical with the cocoa and.. I don’t know. I have to taste it to believe it.
Cupcake technology sure has changed a lot since I was a kid. I remember my mom bringing cupcakes to my class in first grade. Did you know that in a lot of places, parents aren’t even allowed to do that anymore? It was the equivalent to fifteen minutes of fame at the age of six. Everyone in class loved you just because you were having a birthday. if your mom decorated them really cool, then you got some added points in the coolness department.
Cupcake Stands
Have you seen these cupcake stands? they remind me of candelabras, only instead of flaming candles, they hold frosted cupcakes (just realized that flaming candles and frosted cupcakes have the same initials, so I’m wondering if any cupcake holder company calls their product a cupcake-abra) Anyhow, I like the Good Cook Cupcake Stacker the best, because of its shape, and also the 3-Tier Filigree Cupcake Stand , which is so beautiful, you could use it for other desserts or appetizers, too. heck, it would make a cute condiment/spice shelf. Hmmmmm maybe I’ll get one.
Cooking Cupcakes
Not only do cupcakes get served differently these days, but they’re cooked differently, too. You’ve seen those commercials or infomercials on TV for the pans that look like plastic, right? Actually they are some kind of funky space aged plastic. Anyhow, the Wilton Ultimate 3 In 1 Caddy allows you to bake, frost and transport the cupcakes all in the same thing. It’s a baking tray that’s made of that plastic stuff, then apparently they can cool in the pan (they don’t need a wire rack) and then you can frost them and then put a lid on it, it even has a handle. If you’re a bit freaked out by the plastic bakeware (some people are) then the Oneida 24-Count Cupcake Carrying Case might be a better idea for you. I’m not currently in the market for bakeware, but if I was I think I’d at least want to try that plastic, it seems like a fun novelty. I’m sure it won’t melt, but the thought alone seems exciting.
Giant Cupcakes
Finally, the Giant Cupcake Pan which makes (you guessed it) giant cupcakes. It’s a molded pan that makes a layer cake look like a big cupcake.
 Elmo fondant cake
So I’ve been experimenting with fondant, using my amazing fondant recipe and although the color on the Elmo cake picture is messed up, I’m pleased with the results.
 Little Fondant Cake
This little one was made using a leftover slice of the Elmo cake, later in the day. I colored the fondant before I mixed it, so the colors were rich and vibrant. I laid the stripes together before it was rolled and used an extra purple one at the base.
 Barack Obama Fondant Cake
And this is my politically incorrect attempt at adding chocolate to the fondant. My apologies to the POTUS, it was an art project.
